Persana AI

Clay-style enrichment tables and AI research agents at a lower entry price, with sending via integrations

Solo Founder AgentsChecked
Solo-fit verdictSmall-Team Ready

Good value as a list-building brain for your outbound — but it is one half of a stack, not the whole outbound job.

True solo cost · lowfrom $68$68/mo — Starter billed annually (2,000 credits/mo) for about 500 prospects/mo, assuming email-first enrichment at 1 credit per email and a separate sequencer subscription still to pay
True solo cost · typicalfrom $68$68-$151/mo — Starter covers about 2,000 email prospects/mo at 1 credit each; Growth at $151/mo billed annually is the realistic tier at this volume once sequencing integrations, API use and any phone lookups (10 credits each) are included, plus your sequencer fee

What Persana AI is — in our words

Persana is primarily an outbound prospecting and enrichment workspace, not inbound lead capture and not, on its cheaper plans, a sender. You build prospect tables from a large contact database drawn from many data providers, then run waterfall enrichment to find work emails and phone numbers, add AI research columns about each company and person, and apply signal and playbook workflows — for example targeting companies showing job changes, hiring or funding activity on higher tiers. Its AI agent, including the Nia agent for multichannel work, can help research prospects and prepare personalised outreach, but the sending itself usually happens elsewhere: sequencing integrations with tools such as Instantly and Smartlead unlock at the Growth tier, and native sending only arrives at the top tier. Replies and meeting booking therefore live in your sequencer and CRM, not inside Persana. For a solo founder, Persana is the budget route into the Clay pattern — rich, research-backed lists without Clay's entry price — provided you are comfortable assembling a small stack and watching credit maths closely. One email costs one credit but a phone number costs ten, CRM sync with HubSpot or Salesforce is locked behind the Pro plan, and the credit system rewards planning which enrichments actually matter before you run a whole table.

What it does end-to-end

  • Build prospect lists from a multi-provider contact database
  • Run waterfall email and phone enrichment in spreadsheet-style tables
  • Add AI research and personalisation data for each prospect
  • Apply signal-based playbooks such as job-change and funding triggers on higher plans
  • Push enriched prospects to sequencers such as Instantly and Smartlead

What it does NOT do

  • Send sequences natively on Starter or Growth — sending is via integrations until the top tier
  • Include HubSpot or Salesforce sync below the Pro plan at $400/mo
  • Make phone data cheap; one phone number costs 10 credits versus 1 for an email
  • Triage replies or book meetings; that work stays in your sending tool

Integrations we verified: HubSpot, Salesforce, Instantly, Smartlead, Outreach, Salesloft, Zapier, Clay

Pros — our take

  • Clay-like enrichment and AI research at a much lower entry price
  • Unlimited users, so the price does not grow with occasional help
  • Credits roll over within limits, softening spiky prospecting months

Cons — our take

  • You still need, and pay for, a separate sequencer on most plans
  • CRM sync is paywalled at $400/mo, which stings for a solo user
  • Credit costs per action take time to learn and can burn on phone data
